i opened an account with my broker in edelweiss & he charged me an account opening fee of rs 951 for share trading account & rs 200 for commodity trading account along with this he collected from me two separate cheques of rs 5000/- each as margin for both the accounts along with that he told me that brokerage would be 0.05% or rs 50 per lakh. i am in dilemma after reading your article where it is written that having a demat account with edelweiss is absolutely free and brokerage is also 0.03 %. can you please guide me ?
